当低压断路器接通电源后，电磁脱扣器、热脱扣器及欠电压脱扣器若无异常动作，断路器属运行正常。 当线路发生短路时，短路电流超过瞬时脱扣整定值，电磁脱扣器产生足够大的吸力，将衔铁吸合，并撞击杠杆，使搭钩与锁扣脱开。锁扣在反力弹簧的作用下，将三副主触头分断，切断电源。 当线路发生一般性过载时，过载电流虽不能使电磁脱扣器动作，但能使热元件双金属片受热弯曲，推动杠杆使搭钩与锁扣脱开，将主触头分断。 欠电压脱扣器的工作过程与电磁脱扣器相反。当线路上电压下降到某一数值时，欠电压脱扣器吸力减小或消失，衔铁被拉力弹簧拉开并撞击杠杆，主电路电源被分断。

When a general overload occurs in the circuit, although the overload current cannot cause the electromagnetic release to operate, it can cause the bimetallic strip of the thermal element to bend due to heat, push the lever to disengage the hook and lock, and disconnect the main contact. The working process of an undervoltage release is opposite to that of an electromagnetic release. When the voltage on the circuit drops to a certain value, the suction force of the undervoltage release decreases or disappears, the armature is pulled apart by the tension spring and hits the lever, and the power supply of the main circuit is disconnected.
